Selecting the right location is essential for your branding photoshoot
Club CEO is one of my favorite places to rent in Richmond, VA. It offers multiple backdrops and great furniture to swap and move around. I would book Club CEO through Peerspace.com Kim Brundage Photography
Finding the perfect space for your brand photoshoot can make your photos stand out and convey your brand in a truly impactful way. Often, the space that works the best is a public space (like a coffee shop or an outdoor location), but sometimes, finding the perfect spot means renting a space that aligns with your brand and perfectly showcases you.
THERE ARE FOUR MAIN INGREDIENTS TO HAVING A SUCCESSFUL BRAND PHOTOSHOOT:
The Location — Reflect your personality and the brand’s mission.
Hair/Makeup — Ensure you feel beautiful and confident for your shoot.
Wardrobe — Ensure your chosen looks represent your brand and your body type.
Your photographer — You want a brand photographer to create images to magnetize your brand. Review their Google Reviews to get a feel of their rating and how they take care of their clients. I have more than 145 5 Star Google Reviews.
I’ve listed location first in the list above because, in my experience, it can make or break many things.

Here are 3 things to consider as you choose the location for your next photo shoot:
How You Feel During Your Shoot
Never underestimate the impact your feelings and comfort level have on the images taken during a photoshoot.
It shows in your finished photos if you’re uncomfortable during a shoot. Finding a place that makes you feel happy and at ease greatly affects your body language, facial expressions, and even how you move during your shoot. All of those things work together to help create images you’ll love.

Lighting Is Everything
Lighting can impact the overall look and feel of a photo more than any other component. The time of day you choose to shoot matters, as does the lighting in the location where you’re shooting. Often, renting a space is the best way to ensure the lighting is perfect.
Renting a loft with lots of windows that face the east is a great option if you’re shooting in the morning. Finding a cabin near a lake with a porch that faces west means you can use the “Golden Hour” lighting before sunset to get stunning images.

The “Vibe” of Your Location
Your brand represents a specific feeling you want to convey to your potential clients. When I work with someone on a brand photoshoot, I first ask them to come up with three words they want to convey in their photos. If you’re a business coach and your words are “powerful, competent, and professional,” renting a co-working space that looks like a professional workspace may be appropriate. If you’re a yoga teacher who does energy work and your words are “Calm, compassionate, and approachable,” finding an art gallery or dance studio will powerfully convey what you want in your photos.
These are a few great reasons to consider renting a space for your next brand photoshoot. You may even consider a few locations. It’s a small investment that can make a huge difference in your final images, making you much more confident when you share them.
