Spring Flowers in the Southwest - Barlett Lake, Scottsdale AZ

It’s so interesting to be in a different part of the country and experience spring in a whole new way. There are poppies and lupines everywhere, but not like the poppies I experienced back in Virginia. The wildflowers are so delicate and fragile especially next to the spikey cactus.

I took out my 100mm macro lens, LensBaby 85mm and my 50 mm for free lensing play. I hope you enjoy these images as much as I enjoyed capturing them.

I used my 50 mm free lensing. Free lensing is when you detach your lens from the front of the camera and play with different angles to get a different ethereal focus.

Lupines - the purple mixed with the yellow was sweet

Free lensing again - the bees were everywhere and they were a joy to see. See the blurry bee in the top left-hand corner?

Me in my happy place!
